HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that Ridgeville Telephone Company, a provider of voice, long distance, data and cable TV services in Northwest Ohio, has selected ADTRAN’s Optical Networking Edge (ONE) solution to extend the transport backbone for its 200 mile fiber optic network, expand their Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployments and provide carrier Ethernet service delivery in the region. Seeing increased bandwidth demand for speeds of up to 10Gbps for Business Ethernet and wholesale services, Ridgeville is leveraging ONE to cost effectively bridge the gap between network access and transport and extend the bandwidth efficiencies of the core to the optical edge.
Ridgeville selected ADTRAN to provide an edge-based packet optical transport solution which included an integrated service delivery option. This option enables them to not only respond to the demand for transport capacity as it grows exponentially over time but also capture new revenue streams by delivering premium Carrier Ethernet and FTTH-based residential services. The scalable service separation functionality of ONE allows Ridgeville to maintain a high quality of service (QoS) for its own Business Ethernet customers as well as other wholesale services which co-exist within the network architecture. The solution allows Ridgeville to meet the strict SLA requirements of their own customers, other wholesale partners, and Tier 1 mobile operators sharing the same fiber facilities. Ridgeville is also ensuring service reliability by utilizing ADTRAN’s Advanced Operational Environment (AOE) ServiceMonitor solution to troubleshoot network issues more efficiently and effectively with tools that provide intuitive, proactive reporting of SLA compliance status and ITU-T Y.1731-based performance statistics.
“ADTRAN’s reputation in the industry is unparalleled and their solutions enable us to launch next generation services while maintaining our incumbent services which allows us to capitalize on new market opportunities and maximize our network assets,” said David Gobrogge, Assistant Manager at Ridgeville Telephone Company. “The ADTRAN ONE solution provides the scalability and flexibility we need to support the growing bandwidth demand for wholesale transport, premium residential and business Ethernet services.”
“With ADTRAN’s ONE solution Ridgeville knows they have virtually unlimited packet optical transport they need to support a wide variety of services and applications,” said Mitch Fleming, regional vice president, service provider sales, ADTRAN. “Service providers need a transport solution like ONE that is right-sized for the application, and ideally, can provide integrated multi-service access and aggregation functionality to increase their competitiveness as they deploy high performance, scalable services.”
