Princeton, NJ (March 11, 2014) – RCN, an industry-leading provider of high-speed Internet, digital TV and phone services announced today that it has substantially increased Internet upload speeds for most of its residential Internet customers as a free upgrade.

RCN customers will experience the following upgrades to upload speeds at no cost:

  • 75Mbps Customers – from 10Mbps to 15Mbps upload

“At RCN, our Internet service has always been fast.  As consumer needs change we want to stay ahead and so we are excited to nearly double upload speeds,” said Chris Fenger, Chief Operating Officer at RCN. “We’re committed to providing unmatched value with the latest technological advancements and to delivering upgrades to our customers as quickly as possible. New customers will also enjoy this additional benefit when they sign up with RCN.  If existing customers do not experience the upgrade automatically, the faster speeds can be achieved with a simple reboot of their modem. Rebooting is an easy task.  For specific directions on how to reboot a modem, customers can visit RCN’s website at http://www.rcn.com/help and search “Reset Modem.”
