This week, the NTIA approved the BEAD Final Proposals from Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, and Nebraska all mention the approved proposals on their websites, but the other states do not.

In an email today, Arizona announced the results of its final proposals: 70 projects, 10 subgrantees, 7,709+ new miles of fiber, 78% service from local providers, and 160,000 locations reached. The state’s original BEAD provisional awards were just over $512 million; its email today said the state would receive $447 million in BEAD funds, with a $520 million provider match.

“Opportunity for every Arizonan means access to fast, affordable, reliable internet, no matter your zip code,” said Governor Katie Hobbs about the NTIA’s approval of the state’s BEAD proposal.

“With this historic investment, we’re not just closing the digital divide, but also opening doors to economic opportunity in every corner of our state. I’m grateful to the ACA and everyone who has played a role in advancing this critical project. From education to health care to workforce development, broadband is key to Arizona’s present and future.”

Nebraska linked to an infographic on the NTIA website sharing its BEAD results: $44.5 million awarded and a technology distribution in which 8,002 locations will receive licensed fixed wireless service (56.9% of the state’s total locations), 4,764 locations will receive low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite service (33.9%), and 1,298 locations will receive fiber service (9.2%).
