Press Release

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ADTRAN®, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that Millry Telephone, serving southwest Alabama, has selected the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform (MSAP) and the Total Access 1124P for its Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN) deployments.

“We were challenged with meeting the needs of an ever growing bandwidth demand, while looking for a solution that would allow us to cost-effectively migrate our network to an Ethernet-based core that was better suited for next-generation services. When we evaluated the available solutions ADTRAN was the clear winner,” said Gene Brown, director of engineering, Millry Telephone. “The Total Access 5000 and Total Access 1124P gave us the right set of options to address our needs now and into the future. We can now push fiber deeper into our network to deliver high-bandwidth services with the FTTN architecture.”

“The Total Access 5000 and 1124P are a great combination for service providers looking to deploy FTTN as a cost-effective solution for enhanced broadband services,” said P. Steven Locke, vice president of sales, service providers, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division. “The Total Access 5000 solution allows service providers to maximize service delivery and significantly reduce CapEx and OpEx costs. Additionally, the Total Access 1124P allows carriers to extend the Total Access 5000 network closer to the subscriber, enabling higher speeds and enhanced services. With DSL pair bonding, built in POTS, and the ability to be remotely powered, the Total Access 1124P is an extremely flexible solution.”

The Total Access 1124P functions as a node in the Total Access 5000 network for voice and data services. It significantly reduces installation costs, eliminating the need for a concrete pad and associated installation equipment such as cabinets and cranes. When deployed in conjunction with the Total Access 5000, it allows the Total Access 5000 to be utilized for both transport and core connectivity, further enhancing the efficiency of this solution.
