Metronet Refreshes its Brand

Taking a fresh look at your brand is top of mind in the broadband industry, with Metronet being the latest provider to update its brand. It’s the first rebrand for the 17-year-old fiber broadband provider.

The new brand incorporates a new purple and green color scheme. The company says the new brand symbolizes “[M]etronet’s dedication to remaining innovative and committed to bringing customers fast, reliable service through state-of-the-art fiber optic technology.”

The company’s website already features the new branding, with the carrier’s storefronts and trucks next in line for the brand upgrade. The rebrand also incorporates a new tagline of ‘love your internet.’

“The rebranding reinforces Metronet’s commitment to the communities we serve,” said Mindy Wingert, Metronet Vice President of Marketing in a press release. “We are driven to help our customers love their internet. The new tagline is more than a motto, it is our mission: you will love your internet with Metronet.”

Metronet just recently closed on its merger with Vexus Fiber, with the two now collectively serving more than 250 communities in 16 states. Even with this Metronet rebrand, the two will continue to operate with their respective brands. At least for now.

Both Metronet and Vexus are expanding aggressively, launching in new markets quite regularly. Vexus is focused primarily in Texas and Louisiana, while Metronet is spread across the Midwest and the South. Metronet offers 3 primary fiber plans of 100 Mbps, 500 Mbps, and a gigabit tier. The company is based in Evansville, Indiana.

Metronet joins a growing number of companies who are refreshing their brands, with the move to fiber being one primary factor. The latest examples include Frontier,  which is trying to reposition its traditional copper telecom legacy with a fiber broadband future, and altafiber, previously known as Cincinnati Bell.
