October 09, 2023 — PORT ORANGE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Metronet today announced that residents and businesses in initial construction areas throughout Port Orange now have access to 100% fiber optic internet. As Metronet’s service becomes available throughout the city, residents will have access to multi-gigabit speeds up to 2 gigabits; and businesses will have access to speeds up to 10 gigabits.
With access to 100% fiber optic internet, customers will experience ultra-high-speed service that connects directly to their home or business, bringing symmetrical upload and download speeds right to your device, free of buffering. Customers located in Metronet’s initial construction areas may now sign up for service installation online at metronet.com.
“Several communities in Florida are quickly gaining the opportunity to tap into ultra-fast fiber optic internet, and we are proud to bring that opportunity to Port Orange,” said Bill Gilliam, Metronet Florida General Manager. “As we’ve worked to launch our service and connect the first residents in Port Orange, we’re grateful to see the positive response from the community. We are committed to providing the fastest speeds available with reliable connectivity, and we look forward to seeing the impact that our service will have on the thriving community.”
Port Orange residents will see Metronet trucks throughout the area as construction activities expand throughout the community. Residents will receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to starting. Additional messaging, such as yard signs, will also be provided to notify residents of when construction is beginning in their neighborhood. Metronet crews are identified by ID tags and branded Metronet vehicles.
Metronet plans to hire local market management positions, sales and customer service professionals and service technicians to support the Port Orange area. Those interested in joining the Metronet team can visit metronet.com/careers to search available positions and to submit applications.
