Kansas City, Mo. (July 19, 2022) — Garrett Wiseman, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Mercury Broadband announced today the company has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Calix, Inc., to serve as a primary technology provider for the company’s development strategy for both their Mercury@Home and Mercury@Work broadband Internet service platforms.
As part of Mercury Broadband’s growth plan, the company has recently launched their new enhanced broadband services for both residential and small business customers. Mercury@Home was launched in January of 2022, and Mercury@Work was launched in May. Both services provide customers with a “Smarter Internet” experience, leveraging Calix platforms and systems to provide a managed Wi-Fi capability, smartphone applications to monitor and control how they use their Internet connection, and a much more robust, overall Internet experience. Mercury leverages the complete Calix Revenue EDGE™ platform—including the GigaSpire® BLAST systems, Calix Marketing Cloud, Calix Support Cloud, and the customizable CommandIQ® mobile app. This makes it easy for Mercury Broadband to take their customer experience to the next level by offering turnkey managed services, ProtectIQ® (home network security) and ExperienceIQ® (advanced parental controls) on top of their managed Wi-Fi offering.
“Mercury Broadband is committed to providing our customers with the very best broadband experience possible and Calix provides a unique and powerful platform that makes that possible,” said Mr. Wiseman. “Calix has a vision very much in line with our company to provide customers with a managed home/office Wi-Fi experience across all their Internet-connected devices. Our partnership will enable Mercury Broadband to offer our customers a growing set of enhanced broadband services designed to optimize the value of their Internet connection.”
“Calix is proud to support Mercury Broadband in its mission to bring world-class broadband experiences to underserved midwestern communities across Kansas, Missouri, Indiana and Michigan,” said Matt Collins, executive vice president of commercial operations and chief marketing officer at Calix. “Mercury Broadband was founded after recognizing the need for broadband services in underserved markets. We partner with them to close this digital divide, proving that people do not need to live in a major city to get world-class broadband in their home. Mercury Broadband is an innovative, rapidly growing BSP that understands rural America deserves safe, fast, and reliable internet, which it provides in both Mercury@Home and Mercury@Work. With the addition of managed services in Revenue EDGE Suites like ProtectIQ, ExperienceIQ, Mercury Broadband is meeting the evolving needs of its customers to create market-leading, managed internet experiences.”
Both Mercury@Home and Mercury@Work provide customers with a high-speed reliable Internet connection, free use of a Calix GigaSpire BLAST 6 Wi-Fi system, access to the Mercury mobile app, built on CommandIQ, and access to enhanced managed services like ProtectIQ and ExperienceIQ.
Mercury Broadband will continue to partner with Calix to leverage additional Calix technology enhancements to extend both Mercury@Home and Mercury@Work service capabilities. The power of the full Revenue EDGE platform, including the ecosystem of services in Calix Revenue EDGE Suites, makes it easy for Mercury Broadband to meet the evolving needs of its customers with managed services. Today it is home network cybersecurity and advanced parental controls. In the future, additional planned enhancements include broadband-enabled security and home monitoring, smart home management, and additional management of other Internet home and office devices and applications.
Both Mercury@Home and Mercury@Work services are currently available in select markets across Mercury Broadband service center areas throughout Kansas, Indiana, Missouri, and now Michigan. Future market launches include areas in both Ohio and Illinois. Interested customers should visit www.mercurybroadband.com or call tollfree 1-800-354-4915 for more information.
