Mediacom Begins Broadband Speed Upgrades

MediacomMediacom, the Middletown, New York based cable MSO, reported earlier this month that they would be raising the speeds of the cable modem broadband tiers. They’re keeping their promise.

The Des Moines Register is reporting starting Tuesday September 1st, Mediacom customers will see download speeds rise from 8 Mbps to 12 Mbps. Additionally, Mediacom triple play subscribers who opt for the current 10 Mbps tier will see it rise to 15 Mbps. Upstream bandwidth will be 1 Mbps for both new tiers. Mediacom competes with Qwest and a variety of smaller independent telcos in the state of Iowa.
