Victor, NY — July 20, 2016 — REDCOM Laboratories Inc., a company that designs and manufactures reliable world-class digital and IP-enabled telecommunications systems, announced today that Minerva Valley Companies, in Zearing, Iowa, has installed a REDCOM High Density Exchange (HDX) softswitch in its central office, replacing two existing Coppercom CSX switches.
Minerva Valley selected REDCOM based on the company’s proven reputation of trust and reliability. With all the shake-ups in the communications industry over the past decade, REDCOM remains strong and committed to the rural telecom market. Before installing the REDCOM HDX, Minerva Valley was maintaining two sites with unsupported Coppercom switches. REDCOM was instrumental in helping the rural Iowa service provider achieve its goal of consolidating these two sites into one in order to reduce maintenance costs, power usage, and administrative expenses.
The HDX now serves as a powerful Carrier Class 4/5 softswitch, enabling Minerva Valley to offer its customers Next Generation Network services. “We selected the REDCOM HDX because it is a cost-effective overlay on our existing network and offers us a way forward that we simply couldn’t get from the old Coppercom,” said Levi Bappe, General Manager, Minerva Valley Companies. “This is an investment in the future of advanced communications services for our customers.”
