Iowa Cable Provider Goes with Innovative MG-TV

August 31, 2020  — While they fully recognize the fluid state of video, Jefferson Telecom felt that converting their cable system using the Innovative Systems video solution made the best sense for this central Iowa community, in conjunction with their fiber-to-the-home project. According to Jamie Daubendiek, Jefferson’s General Manager, there was a conversation about exiting video all together, but that the leadership felt it was not the right time to make such a decision, and that competition was a consideration for continuing on.

Integrated Services a Deciding Factor
For Daubendiek having a positive experience using the Innovative Systems eLation™ billing solution played a role in using their video solution. Having built-in support that flows through the billing system, being able to troubleshoot through one network, and one vendor, just made good sense for Jefferson.

Local Video On-Demand a Timely Upgrade
In addition to cDVR and Restart TV upgrades, Daubendiek cited local content in the InnoStream™ platform as a customer appreciated feature. One specific instance is city council meetings that people are less likely to attend, but can be viewed through their TV with the local VOD.
