Innovative Systems announced today that it plans to acquire Actifai for an undisclosed price. Actifai is an artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed for broadband service providers (BSPs), while Innovative Systems offers a broadband billing and subscriber management platform.
The combined companies will collaborate to provide agentic AI workflows for service providers to help enable BSPs to keep legacy systems while deploying AI-driven automation.
However, Innovative Systems and Actifai will continue to operate as separate companies for an undetermined amount of time. Customers and partners of each company will continue working with their existing teams and solutions.
Innovative Systems’ eLation platform provides a comprehensive system of record, built on a unified data model designed to provide a solid foundation for BSP operations. According to the press release, Actifai complements this foundation with a platform-agnostic AI engine designed to enhance sales, retention, support, and subscriber interactions across a wide range of environments.
Innovative Systems and Actifai anticipate that the combination of the two solutions will help quicken AI-driven decision-making and workflow automation within providers’ existing platforms. This is expected to help teams foresee issues, take the right actions, and resolve problems without system replacement.
“AI is most powerful when embedded within real operational systems and subscriber interactions,” Scott Alcott, CEO of Innovative Systems, said in a prepared statement. “Partnering with Actifai enables us to help providers take action faster, improve outcomes, and automate more of the work that drives their business.”
Innovative Systems itself was acquired last August by private equity firm GTCR from Alpine Investors, another investment firm. No information on the purchase price or other details was included in the press release at the time.
