June 11, 2026, Conway, S.C., — HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, today announced plans for the Cooperative’s expansion into the City of Marion.
This multimillion-dollar project will allow HTC to serve most of the residents and businesses in the City of Marion. Construction is already underway for a grant-funded portion of the project, and the remaining work will be done throughout the summer.
“HTC is excited to bring fiber internet to the City of Marion and provide residents and businesses a new choice in internet providers,” said Von Todd, HTC Chief Executive of Corporate Strategy.
With these investments, HTC will provide residents and businesses with a reliable local connection with speeds starting at 1 Gig. In addition, residents who sign up for service will become cooperative members. Cooperative membership includes:
- Capital Credits – HTC operates as a nonprofit cooperative. That means that excess revenues earned are returned to members.
- Voting Rights – Members vote on important matters of the Cooperative, including the election of the Board of Directors.
- Competitive Pricing – Members enjoy affordable rates on all communications services.
- Community Contributions – HTC is committed to investing in the local communities we serve, with employees giving financially and volunteering of their time to important causes.
“We are thrilled that HTC continues to expand its footprint in Marion County,” said South Carolina State Senator Kent Williams. “Since 2020, HTC has continually stepped up to the plate to be a trusted provider that is committed to bringing reliable service to our residents.”
“The availability of fiber internet service from HTC will be a true gamechanger for Marion, not only from the service itself, but also for the commitment HTC has to being vested stewards of the areas they serve.” said South Carolina State Representative Lucas Atkinson.
“We’re thankful for HTC bringing fiber internet service to Marion and look forward to them being a trusted community partner,” said Ashley Brady, Mayor of Marion.
