MANCHESTER, N.H., June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — FairPoint Communications recently upgraded its network infrastructure in eight communities in southern New Hampshire, increasing the speed of Internet service available to more than 58,000 local businesses and residential consumers who currently qualify for fiber service.

These services are delivered over northern New England’s largest fiber-core network. FairPoint now offers high-speed Internet download speeds up to 100 Mbps and uploads as fast as 75 Mbps to many locations in Portsmouth, Salem, Atkinson, Plaistow, Epping, Exeter, Hampton and Nashua served by the company’s fiber network.  FairPoint is also introducing high-speed Internet offerings with 50 Mbps and 75 Mbps download speeds.

Since April 2008, FairPoint has invested more than $700 million in its communications infrastructure and technology to reach new customers, upgrade its network and expand broadband in northern New England, including building thousands of miles of new fiber across the region.
