Press Release

Hauppauge, N.Y. and San Antonio – March 26, 2014 – Globecomm, a leading global communications solutions provider, announced today that Evolve Broadband has deployed its LTE solutions, delivering a cost-effective, efficient path to 4G/LTE.

Evolve Broadband, a regional carrier providing voice and data products and services throughout 13 counties in Texas, completed successful LTE trials with Globecomm last year and has now finished its initial 35% of coverage area LTE build-out.  Evolve Broadband joins other rural operators in using Globecomm’s hosted LTE core, as well as the company’s unique Converged Packet Gateway (CPG) solution.

Globecomm’s hybrid 4G LTE network services provide a reliable, professionally managed LTE core, which greatly enhances both capital savings and operations savings while not requiring the carrier to hire trained core network operators. Globecomm’s CPG solution is a low-cost managed solution that keeps Internet traffic local to a carrier’s market, reducing expensive backhaul costs over point to point fiber or other terrestrial circuits, while providing efficient data access in their network.

“Globecomm is an excellent value for not only meeting the initial build out requirements, but in doing so with the same technology and capabilities as Tier One carriers,” said Lowell Feldman, the CEO of Evolve.  “Our business model is predicated on having partners that deliver the services that make our solutions work at an optimal level. With the launch of our 4G LTE network, we are now in an excellent position to offer our customers the expanded capacity and advanced features that they are demanding.   Once Commercially Reasonable Roaming is established with AT&T, we will be able to provide top quality nationwide cell phone services in additional to excellent regional data services we offer today.”

Globecomm is in its 20th year of delivering global network services to carriers, broadcasters, enterprises and governments with 100% uptime. The company continues to strengthen its 2G/3G/4G LTE technology platform, supporting both GSM and CDMA, as rural-based customers seek to have the network services to support today’s communications applications.

“Our regional and rural carrier customers need to migrate to 4G LTE services to provide their customers the services they need while remaining competitive with the bigger players,” said Andrew Silberstein, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Globecomm Network Services. “Our LTE solutions and services get the smaller carrier up and running with LTE in a way that is cost-effective and customized to fit their specific needs.”

Globecomm’s 4G LTE solution offers a number of advantages:

  • Instant access to an on par tier one solution – technology, technical team, “ecosystem” partnerships (devices, roaming, tools, analytics, compliance), project management, network operations, tools, revenue generation
  • Cost effective access to the best 4G LTE technology platform, radios and core, in the world from our market leading partner – Ericsson. With advanced features, unlimited capacity, your network is going to be positioned for growth – and compete with the big dogs!
  • Options –hybrid solutions from a menu of services, platforms and standards – built to suit your specific requirements
