EPB Talks FTTH and SmartGrid: Economic Development Engine?

EPB’s CEO gave an interview to Marketwatch (video below) where he explained their thinking behind EPB’s investment in both FTTH and smart grid.

EPB’s 1 Gbps FTTH service has been well documented in the industry and it stands as the fastest available residential broadband service in the nation.

CEO Harold DePriest outlines EPB’s FTTH and smart grid strategy, and why he believes it will become an economic development engine for their community. He also discusses some interesting smart grid applications, including a TV channel which provides electricity usage and rate information in real time for their FTTH subscribers.

EPB will share more details about their FTTH and smart grid strategy at our upcoming SmartGrid Forum, taking place Nov 11-12 in Las Vegas.
