ATLANTA, GA – June 19, 2013 — EarthLink, Inc., a leading IT services and communications provider, today announced the launch of its new 4G Internet-on-the-Go wireless mobile Internet plans for consumers. Powered by Clearwire’s 4G mobile broadband service via a wholesale agreement announced last September, the two packages offer a hotspot device which provides convenient, mobile Internet access in over 80 cities nationwide. Starting at $29.95 a month, the service delivers wireless Internet on up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices including smartphones, tablets and laptops and does not require a contract.
EarthLink’s 4G Internet-on-the-Go Standard Plan for $29.95 includes Internet speeds up to 3Mbps and 2GB of monthly data. The Premium Plan, priced at $49.95 a month, doubles that speed and data usage to 6Mbps and 4 GB of monthly data. EarthLink also offers incremental data packages starting at $4.95 per month that can be added or removed at any time for a customer-tailored data offering.
“Consumers interest in mobile broadband continues to grow, so we are excited to add these 4G wireless data plans to our robust portfolio,” said Kevin F. Brand, Executive Vice President for EarthLink. “Pairing Clearwire’s leadership in 4G with our outstanding reputation for customer care provides more opportunity to satisfy customer needs and aligns with our long-term strategy.”
