TDS Telecommunications Corp–Oct 12th,2012– (TDS®) says construction is underway on four more American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus projects. The projects will expand broadband Internet services to more customers are in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

A project on the Florida/Georgia border for TDS’ Quincy Telephone Company is now underway. It is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2013 and accessible to about 430 customers in areas around Laingka, Ga., Oak Grove, Fla., and Sycamore, Fla. TDS has hired Electricom out of Indiana to do the outside construction work on this project.

In Kentucky, TDS has hired Gibson Technical Services out of Ga. to do the outside construction work. The project is scheduled to be completed by fall 2013, and accessible to about 1,600 customers in the Hyden, Ky. area.

In Tennessee,  TDS has hired R. Roese Contracting Company, Inc. out of Kawkawlin, Mich. to do the outside construction work. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2013, and accessible to about 1,575 customers in areas around Decaturville, Darden, Bruceton, Waynesboro, and Cornersville, Tenn.

In Wisconsin, TDS has hired H&H Utility Excavating out of Plymouth, Wis. to do the outside construction. By fall 2013, the project is scheduled to be completed and accessible to about 460 customers in areas around Iola and Scandinavia, Wis.

TDS is receiving funding for the project from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS) as part of the ARRA.
