September 25, 2012 — TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) says construction is underway on three more American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus projects. The projects are in Georgia, Michigan, and New York. Once completed, broadband Internet services will be available to more customers in these states.
In Georgia, {TDS’ Blue Ridge Telephone Company} TDS has hired McClure’s out of N.C. to do the outside construction work. By next summer, the project is scheduled to be completed and accessible to more than 350 customers in areas around Curtis and Maple Grove.
In Michigan, {TDS’ Island Telephone Company} TDS has hired Creek Enterprise, Inc. out of Tecumseh, Mich. to do the outside construction work. By next winter, the project is scheduled to be completed and accessible about 300 customers on Bois Blanc Island.
In New York, {TDS’ Deposit Telephone Company, Inc.} TDS has hired NextGen out of Rochester, N.Y. to do the outside construction work. By next summer, the project is scheduled to be completed and accessible to about 1,200 customers in areas around Harpursville, Sanford, and Deposit.
