VANCOUVER, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Consolidated Communications, the 13th largest telecom provider in the U.S., has selected the ClearAccess solution for its managed residential broadband offering. The Illinois-based company has deployed the ClearVision TR-069 platform to manage more than 300,000 subscriber devices that comprise today’s connected home, from Internet capable TVs, laptops, and gaming consoles to iPhones, Internet cameras, and other networked devices. Consolidated will also use the Powered by ClearAccessTM residential gateway software to enable new consumer services and provide enhanced support capabilities for its customers.
“ClearAccess addresses our operational needs by providing remote visibility and management of the home network, along with providing us with the potential of new consumer services such as Managed Wi-Fi and Parental Controls for consumers,” said Bob Udell, Senior Vice President at Consolidated. “The compatibility with our current CPE providers will make it easier to leverage these capabilities for both existing and new customers.”
“We recognized the need to have greater visibility into the home, and after thorough evaluation we selected the ClearVision TR-069 platform to provide this capability. This addresses our immediate needs as well as positions us to manage the growing number of IP-enabled devices in the home,” said Jim Watkins, VP Engineering at Consolidated.
Consolidated joins the growing list of more than 55 service providers that have chosen ClearAccess, as the ClearVision platform continues to deliver operational savings and new revenue opportunities for global service providers.
“Service providers can look to Consolidated for its technical and thought leadership in delivering value-added services to its customers,” said Ken Hood, CEO ClearAccess. “We are pleased to have a live deployment in place and are actively working with Consolidated to enable new data services which will strategically increase the economic value of its customer base.”
