OMAHA, Neb. — Pinpoint Broadband, Inc. is proud to announce that they have been selected to provide a private fiber network to Metro Community College (MCC) which will interconnect their current Omaha metro campuses. MCC intends to leverage the Pinpoint fiber to increase the capabilities of their current metro wide area network and explore new business specific platforms.
“The new network will provide our students the kind of technology that will help them with their coursework and aid them in reaching their academic goals,” said Randy Schmailzl, president of MCC. “The technology that Pinpoint Broadband Inc. provides makes this a great investment well into the future.”
Pinpoint Broadband Inc. will be deploying a new network architecture to address MCC’s diverse technology needs, as well as, expanding a new product offering in the Omaha metro. Enterprise Fiber Leasing will combine key elements of traditional lit services with the unrestricted capabilities of dark fiber and make this platform available to the Enterprise market. Pinpoint’s “Enterprise Fiber Leasing” marks a clear departure from the traditional data transport model and will empower Enterprise Companies to establish their own Internet peering and carrier access with Pinpoint owned and maintained fiber optics.
“We are excited to be the first company to offer this solution,” said Mike Urdahl, President of Pinpoint Broadband Inc. “We are proud to be able to work with MCC to find a custom solution to address their diverse network needs.”
Pinpoint Broadband Inc. will begin construction on MCC’s new network within the next 30 days, and the network should be fully operational by spring 2015.
