xFi Advance Security on the go

Comcast has added new security features to its Xfinity internet service for customers that subscribe to the company’s premium Wi-Fi offering known as xFi.

The new features expand on xFi Advanced Security capabilities, which the company credits for blocking billions of cyber threats from attacking customer devices in the home. The new capabilities provide xFi Complete customers with cybersecurity protection for their mobile devices outside of the home and VPN encryption when connecting to unsecured Wi-Fi.

xFi Complete subscribers will also be eligible for a new Tech upgrade program that will provide customers a more advanced xFi Advanced Gateway every three years. The new features began rolling out late last week and are available for Xfinity Internet customers who use an Xfinity Advanced Gateway and subscribe to xFi Complete.

“Our unbeatable Internet service just got even better with cybersecurity protection anytime and anywhere you are connected, plus a new tech upgrade program that gives our customers access to improved Wi-Fi technology, helping to deliver an even better connectivity experience,” said Matthew Ecker, Comcast Cable executive vice president, internet and Xfinity Home, in a prepared statement. “Xfinity customers have access to the fastest speeds, personalized Wi-Fi controls and the best Wi-Fi tech anywhere, and these new features will take xFi Complete customers’ service to the next level.”
