has introduced ‘’ service bundles that allow customers to fix their telecoms costs for as long as they stay in the same residence. The ‘Fixed Price for Life’ services are currently available to customers in the Cincinnati Bell’s metro Cincinnati and Dayton areas. Customers don’t have to sign any contracts and can choose from one of three service packages: a basic and upgraded bundle of home phone, high speed Internet and wireless phone services, and a ‘Pick Two’ bundle that includes home phone and high-speed Internet. The move mimics trends being practiced in the wireless industry – fixed pricing and no contracts. Wireless providers have been increasingly relaxing contract requirements, especially with aggressive pre-paid promotions, and introducing a variety of new fixed priced packages.

At $55 per month, the cheapest ‘Pick Two’ package includes home phone with 30 minutes of long-distance and features including Caller ID and Call Waiting along with Cincinnati Bell’s ZoomTown high-speed Internet service, which runs at 5Mbps. For $90 per month for as long as they are billed at the same residence, customers receive home phone service with 30 minutes of long distance, Caller ID and Call Waiting included, ZoomTown high-speed Internet access and wireless phone service with 500 peak minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile and nights and weekend service.

A step up at $199 per month, the ‘Unlimited Everything’ service includes the home phone and ZoomTown services as described above and 2 wireless phone accounts with unlimited voice, text, multimedia and mobile Web browsing with unlimited peak minutes, mobile-to-mobile and nights and weekend service.
