is launching a new bundle of premium sports programming, , which includes both web and linear TV content. According to a Charter statement, the package ‘provides customers premium-level access to coverage of baseball, racing, hockey, football, basketball and more at some of the nation’s top sports websites, including FOXSports.com, MLB.com and NASCAR.COM, in addition to all the premier sports channels on Charter’s digital Sports View tier, such as CBS College Sports, ESPNews™, Fox College Sports and Fuel TV™.’ Actual games will not be accessible on-line.

“Online video is growing in popularity and we want to provide our customers the very best. Our new Sports View Plus package brings our sports fan the best of both worlds –TV sports programming and premium online sports content,” said Rich DiGeronimo, Charter Vice President of Product Management. Eligible customers need to subscribe to both Charter broadband and video services. The package is priced at $10/month.

  1. cable is trying to corner OTT video before they lose control. this is but one of many initiatives. telcos need to get into the game asap.
