Green Bay, WI –  August 2, 2013 – Cellcom has launched myHomeZone, the company’s first residential femtocell product. The myHomeZone is designed to enhance wireless coverage inside homes where location, geography or structure interfere with reception.

“Terrain in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan has always been a challenge for cellular signals, so we are very excited about the launch of the myHomeZone product,” said Dan Fabry, COO of Mobile Operations at Cellcom. “Femtocell technology makes it possible to provide the most consistent coverage in people’s homes, where their home construction or surroundings previously made it difficult.”

About the size of a wireless router, myHomeZone is a miniature cell site that provides strong voice and 3G data service in a residential setting. The unit requires a DSL or cable broadband connection and must be used within Cellcom’s service area within 15 miles of an existing Cellcom cell site.

“The myHomeZone is perfect for customers who may have challenges with their current coverage or those who need the most consistent experience, like someone who works out of their home,” said Fabry.

The device is available on promotion through August 31 for a one-time cost of $99.95 with no monthly service fees. Some restrictions apply. To learn more visit a Cellcom retail location or www.cellcom.com/myhomezone.
