Press Release

DALLAS, COMPTEL PLUS FALL 2012 CONVENTION & EXPO, October 8, 2012 – BTI Systems, the global leader redefining service delivery for metro network operators, today announced that Cbeyond, Inc. (Nasdaq:CBEY) has selected BTI’s Ethernet Business Services and Metro Packet Optical Networking Solutions to rapidly provision services to small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) on its high-speed dedicated network.

Renowned for architecting the world’s first business-class IP local network, Cbeyond is an award-winning provider of technology services to companies in 60 countries. Headquartered in Atlanta, the company delivers cloud services and communications through its enterprise network and data centers.

Earlier this year, Cbeyond launched a strategic initiative to expand its network so customers could gain faster, more secure access to advanced technology, like cloud services. The company sought a technology partner that could nimbly support its multiphased business strategy. After evaluating other major networking vendors, Cbeyond chose BTI based on its ability to provide end-to-end network visibility, and seamlessly integrate into its existing IT infrastructure to support rapid service provisioning.

“The security, scalability and manageability of the network plays an essential role in the migration to cloud services,” said Joe Oesterling, Executive Vice President, Technology and Operations at Cbeyond. “BTI impressed us with its software and open APIs, which integrate efficiently into our infrastructure and make it easier and faster to provision network services. We look forward to working closely with BTI as we further expand our network.”

The cornerstone of BTI’s Ethernet Business Services and Metro Packet Optical Networking Solutions is the proNX Service Manager, a modular, flexible software solution that integrates seamlessly into any operating environment. With a one-click, intuitive and feature-rich GUI, it is designed for rapid scaling across access, aggregation and core network infrastructure. Providing end-to-end network visibility, the proNX Service Manager helps expedite service provisioning, simplify monitoring and management, and speed time to revenue.

Complementing the proNX Service Manager are the BTI 7000 Series and BTI 700 Series packet optical platforms. Compact, modular and easy-to-use, the BTI 7000 Series provides tremendous densities and capacity in a single integrated system. The BTI 700 Series serves as the edge component of a complete, end-to-end Carrier Ethernet networking solution. With multiple small form-factor configurations that allow for cost-effective and rapid service delivery, the MEF-certified BTI 700 Series enables a complete range of Ethernet services.

“We welcome the opportunity to team with forward-thinking companies like Cbeyond that are capitalizing on cloud computing for tremendous business opportunity and competitive advantage,” said Steve Waszak, President and CEO of BTI. “We’re excited to provide the service management software and packet optical platforms to fuel Cbeyond’s current and future expansion into key metro markets nationwide.”
