Addition of IPeer brings Unified Communications Services to Customers

RICHMOND, VA – April 20, 2010 – Cavalier, a leading provider of competitive telecommunications services throughout the eastern United States, today announced the expansion of its IPeer advanced IP telephony solution into the Birmingham, AL and Memphis, TN markets. IPeer is a hosted PBX business service that provides a rich set of IP PBX features, like Live Message Screening, unified messaging, auto-attendant and call center queuing. IPeer makes businesses more efficient by integrating business voice service, fax, voicemail, email and linking them with mobile phone service.

“By making IPeer available in the Birmingham and Memphis areas, Cavalier is able to extend its unified communications services to a growing customer base looking for these services,” said Lou Sommi, senior vice president of marketing at Cavalier. “With communications systems becoming obsolete so rapidly, Cavalier’s IPeer network-based solution allows organizations to scale quickly to meet growing needs while offering the latest applications. Simply put, IPeer allows businesses to communicate and operate more efficiently and affordably.”

“The technology behind IPeer is reliable and trusted,” said Jim Vermeulen, executive vice president of operations at Cavalier. “We manage all aspects of the service, from the customer LAN through our extensive network. Our data centers contain high availability redundant systems, dual fiber access and backup power sources, making IPeer an extremely reliable service.”

IPeer offers maximum flexibility. Customers have complete control of system administration functions, like moving stations, adding users, changing call forwarding or auto-attendant queues, easily and quickly while on site or via a web portal. Individual users can control features, messages and call processing from their phone, from the web, or from a desktop dashboard. IPeer is based on technology from MetaSwitch, a leader in next generation IP voice services.
