Counties in the state partner with the North Carolina Department of Information Technology through the CAB grants program.
Brightspeed was also the largest winner (by number of counties) in North Carolina broadband funding made available at the end of last month.
The $63M in North Carolina broadband funding will go toward deployments in 30 counties. Brightspeed once again was the biggest winner.
The North Carolina broadband awards total $29M. The six companies winning grants will contribute an additional $12.5M to project costs.
This round of broadband grants will connect 10,810 homes and businesses to high-speed internet in 14 North Carolina counties.
