The New Mexico affordable broadband bill now goes to New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to be signed.

Funding for the New Mexico broadband bill would come from the Public Regulation Commission’s State Rural Universal Service Fund.

Entities receiving the New Mexico Wi-Fi grants must maintain the networks for three years minimum and offer at least 100/20 Mbps speeds.

At various locations throughout New Mexico, the program will include five days of training and hands-on experience in broadband installation.

Because of the system’s early success, Catanach said NMSurf will deploy Taara Lightbridge exclusively in some areas.
