Updated Mon. Feb. 9: NTIA approved BEAD proposals for Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Wednesday, December 3: We added California to our list of BEAD provisional awards. All 50 states have now announced provisional awards.

The funding, which was announced last week, will be used to deploy 125 miles of middle-mile fiber in 12 Alabama counties.

This comprehensive update details, as far as possible, the BEAD Benefit of the Bargain funding round for each state.

Alabama will score its BEAD applications nearly the same for both priority broadband projects and other projects.

The projects will cover nearly 2,350 miles across Alabama and are expected to provide broadband availability to more than 15,000 locations.
