Cablevision introduced “Optimum Voice Click-to-Call,” a service that enables users to make one-click telephone calls directly from their Web browsers by clicking on Web page phone numbers. The service is free to any Optimum Voice customer household and can be accessed with any Optimum ID associated with an active account.
When a phone number is clicked on a website, the service will automatically call the subscriber’s designated Optimum voice phone number and then automatically connect it with the clicked telephone number from the website.
“With Optimum Voice Click-to-Call, we are enabling one-click dialing from any Web browser, anywhere,” said Joseph Varello, Cablevision’s vice president of digital voice product management.”Optimum Voice has always been more than a static ‘landline’ phone service. Click-to-Call represents the ongoing evolution of our voice services outside the home, providing a seamless and simple way for our customers to connect with the people and places they want to reach with the click of the mouse.”
The service is now available to Cablevision Optimum Voice subscribers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The telecompetitor plans to roll it out across its coverage area in coming weeks.
