Agreement Provides Customers With Expanded Coverage On and Offshore

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Broadpoint, a leading provider of offshore telecommunications and network services, today announced its completed agreement to merge with MTPCS, LLC, d.b.a. Cellular One, a provider of nationwide GSM/EDGE voice and data communications services. Together, the companies will offer seamless communications both offshore, leveraging Broadpoint’s 100,000 square-mile GSM/EDGE network in the Gulf of Mexico, and onshore through Cellular One’s network in Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, and Wyoming.

“Uniting Broadpoint with Cellular One creates a bridge between the personal and professional lives of many of our customers, providing them with comprehensive coverage offshore, in their land-based office and at home,” said Bryan Olivier, President and COO, Broadpoint. “Together, we are making communications more convenient for our customers, eliminating the need for separate on and offshore communications providers.”

Jonathan Foxman, President and CEO of Cellular One, added, “We are excited to be working with Broadpoint to provide a truly unique wireless voice and data solution.” He continued, “Customers will now have the benefit of seamless coverage with Cellular One’s nationwide cellular service and 100,000 square miles of offshore service provided by Broadpoint.”

As a result of the merger, Broadpoint and Cellular One will provide the most comprehensive on and offshore cellular coverage available today, giving users access to constant connectivity through a single mobile device. Current Broadpoint customers will continue to enjoy the same reliable, high-quality Gulf of Mexico GSM/EDGE network, satellite coverage and customer service the company is known for, now with added onshore benefits. Additionally, Cellular One customers will experience constant connectivity when working offshore for the first time.

Broadpoint will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cellular One, retaining its headquarters in Houston, Texas.
