Brightspeed introduces EasyMove to help people relocate simply

Moving in many cases is a great experience, especially for a young family moving up. It also can be a tremendous hassle. Brightspeed’s EasyMove, announced yesterday, aims to remove broadband from the list of headaches — and keep customers from switching to another provider.

“For too long, our industry has treated moving customers like brand new ones,” Stephen Cremen, Brightspeed’s vice president of consumer customer experience and go to market operations, said in a press release.

“EasyMove flips that model. Our customers shouldn’t lose their history, their pricing or their trust just because they’re changing addresses.”

According to the Brightspeed announcement, EasyMove enables subscribers to:

  • Move their service without disconnecting and starting over, reducing steps and handoffs.
  • Maintain their current speeds or adjust them to better fit their new home.
  • Bring current equipment to the new address.
  • Continue using existing account management tools and support channels.
  • Automatically receive the best available price, whether that’s their existing rate or the best offer in their new market.
  • Enroll in AutoPay with paperless billing during their move. Brightspeed said customers may qualify for a $10 monthly EasyMove autopay discount if they move to a new address where postpaid service is available.

Technicians can help customers by taking possession of unused equipment, tailoring installations to needs in the new home and providing customers with updated equipment.

EasyMove is available in some of the provider’s markets, and is only available when a customer moves from one Brightspeed service area to another (or within the same service area). It can be accessed at the company website or by reaching out to a company specialist.

In February, Brightspeed began offering Wi-Fi 7 across its gig-speed plans, which includes Brightspeed Fiber Internet 1 Gig, 2 Gig, 8 Gig, and its newly launched 5 Gig plan.
