Raleigh, North Carolina – (BUSINESS WIRE) – May 20, 2015 – Bandwidth, one of the nation’s leading communications companies, today announced that iTalkBB, the leading VoIP provider to North America’s Asian community, has chosen Bandwidth to provision and manage its 9-1-1 emergency services capabilities.
iTalk Global Communications connects more calls to China than any other VoIP service. Unlike other vendors who simply sell VoIP telephone services, iTalkBB operates an entire call delivery network that is optimized to provide top quality and service to its customers.
iTalk chose Bandwidth over its major incumbent carrier due to its ability to rapidly provision and validate hundreds of thousands of numbers for 9-1-1 routing, efficiently and cost effectively. With the help of Bandwidth’s partnership, iTalkBB was able to provision and integrate 9-1-1 capabilities to more than 262,000 numbers in a matter of days.
The Bandwidth API portal makes the number provisioning and validation process easy and accurate. Due to Bandwidth’s portal, iTalk’s engineers can identify invalid addresses in real-time, providing a more efficient emergency service at a fraction of the cost.
As the partnership developed, the Bandwidth team was also able to evaluate iTalk’s existing numbering uses, helping them reevaluate the numbers it currently serviced for efficiency and further cost savings. Bandwidth is also moving to handle iTalk’s call termination process, helping the company manage the entirety of its emergency services process and removing the complexity from traditional 9-1-1 call handling.
“Bandwidth has been a true partner in seamlessly handling our emergency services,” said Frank Landavazo at iTalk Global Communications. “They have the nationwide reach and expertise to rapidly incorporate services that are both efficient and highly accurate. We are pleased to provide our customers with a higher quality emergency service, expanding our place as a leader in the community we serve.”
“iTalk Global Communications, Inc. has evolved its business to become the undisputed leader in servicing the Asian American community,” said Steve Leonard, EVP and General Manager at Bandwidth. “We welcome our new ability to help them continue to evolve and maintain their position by providing services and integrating into their business seamlessly while improving quality.”
