fixed wirelessAT&T earned the top spot in Best Network OneScore ratings from network benchmarking specialist Global Wireless Solutions’ report, released today. Global Wireless Solutions based its best wireless network report ratings on a combination of engineering drive test data and consumer research.

The goal was to evaluate real-world wireless network performance and real consumer opinion on what they want from their network (from coverage to reliability, data speed, voice quality and video performance).

The testing was conducted across all 50 states as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with measurements taken in 501 markets, including small urban and major metropolitan areas.

“At home or on the road, people expect to use their mobile network to provide reliable service wherever they are and for whatever reason,” said Global Wireless Solutions founder and CEO Paul Carter, in a prepared statement. “This first of its kind nationwide study shows some impressive performances from some operators, but AT&T’s overall performance pushes them ahead of the rest.”

Other key findings from the Global Wireless best wireless network report:

  • Verizon beat out AT&T for a win for fastest mobile internet upload tasks, including posting videos, photos and other social media content.
  • AT&T had the quickest upload time and the best video streaming quality.
  • AT&T took the top spot for lowest number of dropped calls, while T-Mobile was best on voice call quality.
  • Sprint was the trailer among the big four, as the only network to not finish first in any of the voice and data tests.
