DALLAS, Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — AT&T is offering companies and their employees more ways to conduct business and personal matters on a single mobile device with AT&T Toggle®. The company is also extending AT&T Toggle to developers so they can wrap new mobile apps in the solution.
The new features give AT&T Toggle users the latest workplace management tools on their personally owned smartphone or tablet. Employees can now have access to a separate phone line on their personal devices for business calls, flexible VPN options and both employees and IT administrators have the ability to keep an eye on business-related data usage by employees using the Toggle workspace.
The latest enhancements of AT&T Toggle will include:
- Toggle Voice – employees can have a separate phone number to make and receive business calls and check business voicemail.
- Toggle Data – allows businesses to give employees who are subscribers to certain AT&T wireless services plans a fixed amount of data for use on their personal devices.
- The ability to monitor estimated data usage within the Toggle workspace.
- The option for businesses to extend VPN capabilities from several vendors to AT&T Toggle and related applications.
- Excellent user experience for email, contacts and calendar with the ability for employees to stay organized with group email threads by conversation.
“The rapid pace of business has created the need for employees to conduct their business anytime and anywhere,” said Mike Troiano, vice president, AT&T Advanced Mobility Solutions. “With Toggle, companies can cut down the cost of issuing corporate-owned devices while giving employees more flexibility with a virtual office at their fingertips.”
Palms Casino Resort (Las Vegas), internationally recognized for its exceptional accommodations, action-packed casino, high-energy clubs and world-renowned restaurants, has equipped hundreds of its team members with company paid devices. Having company phones allowed the staff to be connected in the 24-hour business, but it was a significant expense and placed a large demand on the Palms IT department.
Working with AT&T, Palms implemented a BYOD program and installed AT&T Toggle to help increase efficiencies by creating a separate, highly-secure work portal on its team members’ personal smartphones. Users will be able to switch back and forth between their personal phone and number and their branded work portal and number. As a result, Palms expects to increase productivity and decrease costs while providing convenience to its team members.
Global
On Monday, Feb. 24, AT&T Toggle will be available to business customers in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Canada. AT&T Toggle will also be available in more than 70 international application stores.**
AT&T Toggle App Ecosystem
AT&T is providing an opportunity to software developers to wrap mobile applications and enable them to operate securely with AT&T Toggle. App developers can use the AT&T Toggle® App Ecosystem as a virtual workspace to test, wrap, and secure their mobile apps with Toggle before uploading them to major mobile app stores. When wrapped applications are available, businesses can offer their employees a highly-secure mobile application that gives them access to company-encrypted information on their personal device.
For a limited time, AT&T is offering a $5 credit to business customers on the retail rate of its AT&T Toggle Premium service. For more information, contact an AT&T Toggle sales representative.
