Dallas, Texas, March 11, 2010 – For basketball fans, March brings the college basketball tournament and 24/7 bracket monitoring. And AT&T U-verseSM TV customers will have both on their TV screen.
AT&T U-verseSM TV customers will soon be able to track their personalized bracket and view tournament results right from their TV screens with the College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports app. AT&T* will make the app available to all U-verse TV customers at no extra charge on Monday, March 15, before the start of this month’s tournament.
The latest U-verse TV app lets you view tournament brackets, your completed bracket, game summaries and box scores for the college basketball tournament this March. U-verse TV customers can easily select their picks online and their bracket automatically shows up on their TV ? all because of the integration between AT&T U-verse’s all Internet Protocol (IP) TV and Internet service.
“Our goal with U-verse TV apps is to enhance the content our customers care about, and we know college basketball fans are passionate about this month’s big tournament,” said Jeff Weber, AT&T vice president of video products. “We’re giving you a single location on your TV to follow your brackets and your favorite teams, without ever leaving the game. This is just one more U-verse TV app that makes the sports watching experience better for our customers.”
To set up your bracket for the app, use your U-verse High Speed Internet account to log in at Yahoo! Sports to pick the teams you think will advance. Your bracket will automatically show up in the U-verse TV app, and once the tournament begins, your correct picks will be highlighted in green and losing picks will be highlighted in red.
You can access College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports in the AT&T U-bar by pressing the “Go Interactive” button on your remote. The AT&T U-bar is an interactive app available to all U-verse TV customers that provides customized sports, weather, stock and traffic information.
College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports is the only the latest app from AT&T that gives U-verse TV customers a better sports experience. Since its initial launch, AT&T has brought U-verse TV customers numerous apps and features at no extra charge, including the award-winning Multiview app that lets customers watch up to four sports channels at once on channel 601.
AT&T U-verse includes many advanced features that help basketball fans catch every play of college basketball season. AT&T U-verse Total Home DVR lets you record up to four shows at once and play them back on any connected TV in the house. U-verse TV also offers an extensive High Definition (HD) channel lineup with more than 120 HD channels. And with fast channel change and picture-in-picture browse, you can channel surf between game broadcasts without the delay experienced on other digital TV services and preview games on other channels.
AT&T U-verse TV is the only 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service offered by a national service provider, making AT&T U-verse one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today. AT&T U-verse TV ranked “Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the South and West Regions Two Years in a Row,” according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 and 2009 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudiesSM.
