More Than 1 Million Florida Living Units Benefit from Video Choice with AT&T U-verse TV

Orlando, Florida, July 27, 2009 – Video competition has reached Florida consumers in a big way, meaning more residents and their televisions can cut ties with cable. AT&T* today announced that AT&T U-verseSM TV and High Speed Internet services are now available to more than 1 million living units across the state – just one year after launching in Florida.

Since introducing AT&T U-verse in Florida in July 2008, AT&T has continually made the service available to more customers on an ongoing basis. AT&T U-verse services are available today in and around several cities in Brevard, Broward, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Orange, Palm Beach, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, and Volusia counties.

“The leadership in Florida had the foresight to pass the legislation to open the doors to video choice for consumers, investment in our communities and jobs for our state, and I applaud them for that vision,” said Marshall Criser III, AT&T Florida president. “I am proud and thrilled that we have been able to provide such a new, unique and exciting product to so many Floridians in just one short year, and look forward to continuing our investments to deliver it to many more consumers in the future.”

AT&T U-verse was made available in Florida thanks to legislation supported by former Representative Trey Traviesa and state Senator Mike Bennett and signed into law by Governor Crist. The Consumer Choice Act of 2007, House Bill 529, provides an environment that encourages new video providers, such as AT&T, to invest in Florida to compete against incumbent cable providers.

“Now even more consumers can forget about cable and see what the U-verse TV experience is all about,” said Jennifer Van Buskirk, vice president and general manager, AT&T Mobility & Consumer for North Florida. “Over the past year, we’ve really been able to show Florida how the AT&T U-verse TV experience is better than cable, and we’ll continue to evolve our services with new features and enhancements that are unmatched by other providers.”

AT&T U-verse TV is the only 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service offered by a national service provider, making AT&T U-verse one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today. Since the launch in Florida, AT&T U-verse has introduced several enhancements to customers at no extra cost including:

* The freedom to watch and playback recordings from a single DVR on any connected TV in the house with Total Home DVR. U-verse TV customers also recently received an exclusive new Total Home DVR feature that allows them to schedule and delete recordings from any U-verse receiver in the home.

* Continuous additions to the U-verse TV High Definition (HD) channel lineup, which now offers access to 110 HD channels.

* The ability to check the current weather conditions and forecasts in any U.S. city with Weather On Demand.

* Several seasonal sports applications that enhance sports viewing, including the 2009 Masters, College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports and Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football apps.

* A 20 percent speed increase for AT&T U-verse Internet Max customers from up to 10 Mbps to up to 12 Mbps downstream.

U-verse TV customers can also enjoy several other TV benefits, the ability to program DVR recordings from your Web-connected mobile phone or PC; personalized, on-screen weather, sports, traffic and stock information via AT&T U-bar; the ability to view personal photos on your TV that you have uploaded to flickr.com; and more.

AT&T also expanded its U-verse offers with the introduction of AT&T U-verse Voice in Florida in January 2009. U-verse Voice is a managed IP-based digital voice service that is delivered over the AT&T’s fiber-rich network. This allows U-verse Voice customers to enjoy great sound quality and reliability, as well as unmatched calling features that combine with your AT&T U-verse TV, broadband and wireless services.

AT&T U-verse customers enjoy quadruple-play integration, enhanced features and greater value, all made possible by IP technology. AT&T U-verse TV ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction in the South Region,” according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudySM.
