Wi-Fi Pro provides fast, reliable, and secure wifi networking for businesses with up to 50 employees, as well as their customers. The new offering is an upgrade from Astound’s Whole Business Wi-Fi, also powered by eero.
Wi-Fi Pro uses eero’s mesh wifi hardware with patented TrueMesh networking technology while offering custom eero for Business features. These include:
- Captive portal: This enables businesses to create a branded guest wifi experience for visitors. Businesses can customize the network with personalized splash pages and branding options specific to their business. With included access controls, businesses can define connection times and bandwidth limits, and set user session restrictions.
- Multiple SSIDs: With multiple SSIDs, businesses can help keep employee and business critical devices secured by segmenting them from other connected devices on the network. Businesses can add up to 4 SSIDs. Multiple SSIDs allow businesses to support users at different access levels, define bandwidth limits and session restrictions, and more.
- Scalable wifi from a single access point: eero’s TrueMesh network provides up to 2,500 square feet of coverage per device, in covering a business’s space. Wi-Fi Pro, powered by eero Max 7, supports wired speeds up to 9.4 Gbps, wireless speeds up to 4.3 Gbps. Wi-Fi Pro, powered by eero Pro 6E, network speeds up to 2.3 Gbps when using both wired (up to a gigabit) and wireless (up to 1.6 Gbps). In addition to eero’s support and advanced security features, Astound manages all licensing, network management, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
