Astound Business Solutions launches new east coast fiber route

Jan 15, 2026 PRINCETON, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Astound Business Solutions, an award-winning, nationwide provider of high-capacity and secure connectivity for business customers, today announced completion of a major fiber network expansion project connecting 111 8th Avenue in New York City to 21715 Filigree Court in Ashburn, VA. This strategic build enhances connectivity between two of the nation’s most critical data hubs, delivering robust scale and resiliency for enterprise, media, and other business customers.

The fiber route spans more than 300 miles and introduces 33.6 terabits per second of additional capacity across the East Coast. Astound Business Solutions engineered the network to support ultra high-speed connectivity and capacity, with wavelengths ranging from 10 gigabits per second (G) to 800G, ensuring scalability for future high-speed internet and video transport demands.

This efficient fiber path is designed to deliver a lower-latency option for services between New York and the Ashburn/Washington corridor by avoiding traditional congestion points near Philadelphia and urban areas of New Jersey. This provides enterprises and media networks with a faster, more resilient backbone for mission-critical applications, including massive data sets and capacity-intensive media assets. Beyond Astound’s direct customers, this benefits the broader ecosystem by providing additional capacity and an alternate route for large data centers in Ashburn, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

“We initiated this expansion specifically to deliver diverse data transport options for enterprise and media customers who increasingly require extensive and reliable connectivity between New York and Washington, D.C.,” said Paul Koss, Astound President, Business Solutions. “By reducing provisioning complexity and leveraging automation, this new route delivers rapid deployment of advanced services and accelerates implementation timelines for commercial entities, all while maximizing efficiency and performance.”
