Tuesday, November 9, 2010  — In is continuing effort to bring their customers the best value, service and innovation in the industry, Alltel Wireless today announced the launch of “Free Fridays,” an exclusive one-of-a kind calling feature that provides consumers with longer and more affordable weekends. With “Free Fridays,” new and existing Alltel customers who sign up for a qualifying rate plan will now receive unlimited FREE calling on Fridays in addition to existing unlimited FREE Nights and Weekends benefits.

The current economic climate hasn’t stopped consumers from remaining dependent on their wireless devices. Consumers are looking for greater flexibility and demanding better services and more value.

“With the launch of ‘My Circle’ and now with ‘Free Fridays,’ Alltel continues to defy convention with our innovative and exclusive calling plans and features that effectively serve our customers”, said Frank O’Mara, Chief Executive Officer for Alltel Wireless. “Friday is the heaviest calling day of the week, so what better way to thank our customers for their business than to offer them Friday for free. We are determined to provide our customers with the very best service at the best possible price, allowing them to stay connected to those that matter most.”

Existing customers are required to take action to add “Free Fridays” to their wireless plan by visiting their nearest retail store or calling Customer Service at 1-800-alltel-1 or 1-800-255-8351, and they can find more information by logging onto alltel.com/freefridays. New postpaid customers can get “Free Fridays” when they activate a qualifying rate plan of $49.99 or higher.

To celebrate the launch of “Free Fridays” and kick off its holiday campaign, Alltel will debut new advertising on Friday, November 12 including a new television spot. The spot features Alltel brand spokesman Chad and highlights great gifts for the holidays, including the latest Android phones and also encourages consumers to start their weekends early by touting another great gift from Alltel – “Free Fridays.” The spot was shot at a local coffeehouse in Carbondale, Ill. in early October accompanied by additional Chad appearances in the community.

Alltel Wireless continues to be an industry leader, providing customers its exclusive “My Circle” feature – unlimited calling to and from any 5, 15 or 25 numbers on any network as well as unlimited text to their Circle on select plans. Alltel Wireless was also the first to offer Anytime Plan Changes, giving customers flexibility to change their calling plans at any time without extending their contract.
