ANCHORAGE, Alaska– April 09, 2015 –Alaska Communications (NASDAQ: ALSK), Alaska’s leading broadband and IT managed service provider, has enhanced Voice over Internet service for Alaska businesses with its new high definition (HD) voice capability. The new capability increases sound clarity to provide a better call experience for small, medium and enterprise businesses using Alaska Communications Voice over Internet phone product.

Alaska Communications recently upgraded all current Voice over Internet customers at no additional charge and will offer it to new customers as well.

“We’re excited to bring Alaska businesses an enhanced call experience. The HD voice enhancement provides clearer overall sound quality, delivered over Alaska’s most reliable network. Voice over Internet with HD is the latest generation of voice technology that gives customers increased mobility, more options for connecting, streamlined operations and one network for voice and data,” Vice President of Product Management and Marketing Eric Lazo said.

Voice over Internet from Alaska Communications allows businesses to make phone calls over the Internet. Alaska Communications was the first Alaska company to introduce Voice over Internet to Alaska in December 2012. The company is pleased to continue to enhance the service, improving the quality of communications in Alaska.

Packages include Cisco or Polycom phones, business class features, dedicated voice network access, Alaska Voice™ mobility app for Smartphones and voicemail with Web access. Pricing is determined by number of phone lines and optional upgrades.
