Small Cable Ops Target Small Business Sector

Solutions for Small BusinessWe’ve discussed the move by cable companies to target the small and medium business sector (SMB) in detail. Large cable companies like Comcast, Cox, and Cablevision have made great inroads with the SMB market and view it as a growth engine. These moves extend the competitive battlefront with the telco industry well beyond consumer markets.

Smaller cable companies including Armstrong, Bresnan, and Insight recognize the potential as well. They’ve recently teamed up with other cablecos, Bloomberg, Cisco, and CTAM to launch ‘Solutions for Small Business.’ The initiative targets SMBs with a variety of free educational resources including webinars, podcasts, and whitepapers.

The program is supported by 12 cable companies and features Bloomberg Television talent and content. Cisco provides the technology behind the initiative and CTAM is coordinating the effort.
